In 1972 an american journalist discovers that the fire station in Livermore (California) has bulbs manufactured in 1901(!) that always work. In 1925, the 1000 hours’ committee is created. It includes the major lamp manufacturers, who decide to limit the life length of the bulbs to 1000 hours. The planned obsolescence is born.Today a webcam is always in front of the bulb of Livermore. For the record, the bulb has already survived two webcams.
